The world's biggest climate change index will be launched today as banks and investors seek to profit from companies that fight global warming.

HSBC, the world's third largest bank, will unveil an index that tracks 300 companies worldwide that make money from fighting climate change, such as windturbine and solar panelmanufacturers and biofuel companies.
