Irreconcilable differences are no longer just grounds for divorce here in the US. Somehow they have also become the premise for a growing portion of what passes for television entertainment on this side of the Atlantic.
Disagreeable people disagreeing have come to dominate our airwaves. It seems that no one can sing or dance or scramble an egg on US television without a panel of pundits assembling to argue about the performance. Even coverage of politics has been handed over to tag teams of Democratic and Republican “strategists” and “consultants” who battle and bitch until one news cycle gives way to another.
