Spence panel assesses policies for growth

Economic growth is the vital ingredient for combating poverty in developing countries and improving the lives of millions of poor people, the report of the Commission on Growth and Development concluded on Wednesday.

The independent commission funded by the World Bank, governments and charities has attempted to distill the essential policies for achieving economic growth, and its findings are striking for their lack of any political leaning.
