There is one name synonymous with architecture in Oak Park, a suburb west of downtown Chicago – Frank Lloyd Wright. More than 100,000 Wright enthusiasts flock here annually from all over the world to see houses designed by the self-described genius of American architecture. A sale of any of these properties attracts international interest and, more often than not, bidding wars.
Wright’s more than 25 buildings – located in and around Oak Park – are one of the most recognised collections of late 19th and 20th century American residential architecture.
