Random House chief may leave publisher

Peter Olson, chief executive of Random House, is in talks about leaving the Bertelsmann-owned book publisher, and could be gone in a matter of weeks, according to people close to the company.

Mr Olson, regarded as one of the most powerful figures in American publishing, is mulling his departure at a time when Random House’s results are under pressure after a long run of success.
