World Bank to act on anti-graft report

The World Bank on Wednesday night said it would implement all the recommendations of the Volcker report that last year analysed the institution’s anti-corruption unit and concluded it should be placed under new oversight.

The new anti-corruption apparatus at the bank will include the creation of a “preventive services consulting unit” to guard staff against fraud and corruption, as well as the elevation of the most senior anti­corruption official to the rank of vice-president.
