Genentech forecasts sluggish earnings growth

Genentech, the world's largest biotechnology drugmaker by market value, on Monday forecast slower growth for 2008, with earnings expected to increase by between 12 per cent and 17 per cent.

The company, which has had growth rates as high as 70 per cent in recent years, has begun to feel the challenge of its growing size and maturing products.
