BAE's search for successor to Turner ends in its own backyard

BAE Systems scoured two continents for a new chief executive and yesterday announced it had found one in its own backyard.

Europe's largest defence manufacturer said Ian King, BAE's chief operating officer for its non-US businesses since January 2007, will take over the position at the end of August. Mr King will replace Mike Turner, a BAE veteran, who has held the post for six years.
