‘Ignore gender,’ urges pioneer

Dame Margaret Turner-Warwick has been followed into medicine by both her daughter, Lynne Turner-Stokes, a professor of medicine, and her grand-daughter, Tabitha Turner-Stokes, who has recently qualified.

Ask the trio about women in medicine and they all bristle. “Ignore gender,” Dame Margaret says. “The more you do, the better.”
