ASF acts to revive securitisation sector

Fresh efforts are underway throughout the securitisation industry to revive the mortgage lending and securitisation business, which has been at a virtual standstill in the wake of the credit crisis.

The American Securitization Forum (ASF) this week unveiled plans to bolster confidence in the securitisation business, starting with residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), in the hope that this vital source of financing for new lending will open up again.
