Unite becomes a transatlantic force

Britain’s biggest union will today join forces with the largest private sector union in the US to create the first transatlantic labour body.

The alliance between Unite and the Pittsburgh-based United Steelworkers (USW) will have more than 2.5m working members and is designed to combat the ill effects of the spread of global capitalism.
