Tesco has emerged victorious in a legal tussle with Scotland’s richest man, after Sir Tom Hunter failed in his attempt to force the garden chain in which the supermarket group has a majority interest to abandon a £150m refinancing plan.
Sir Tom’s investment vehicle, which owns about 29.2 per cent of Dobbies Garden Centres, had argued the refinancing was riding roughshod over the interests of minority shareholders.
