From Ms Donna Anton.
Sir, What a pity that Robert Caro’s “Lunch with the FT” (January 5) was published the day after I wrote to him with an offer to do all of his and Mrs Caro’s household chores – for free – if it would hasten production of the final volume of LBJ’s astonishing life story. (NB: I just spent the past four months addictively absorbing the first four books.)
Had I known Mr Caro composes in longhand, I could have thrown in typing services as well – the ideal postmodern chattel slave. For the sake of biographical genius, who needs civil rights? (Sorry, Lyndon.)
