Indonesia’s Suharto released from hospital

Former Indonesian strongman Suharto was released from hospital on Wednesday after undergoing treatment for almost a month for internal bleeding, with doctors saying his condition had improved in recent days.

The former president, who stepped down in May 1998 amid popular protests, was resting at his home in Jakarta’s diplomatic precinct on Wednesday with only a few local journalists gathered outside.
