Moscow puts UN in tight spot over Kosovo

Russia demanded action against the head of the United Nations mission in Kosovo on Thursday for preparing to hand over powers to a European Union mission it says is illegal.

The demand came as Nato chiefs tried to iron out problems over the international security presence in Kosovo, which announced its secession from Serbia this year and whose constitution is due to come into force in three days.
