Dow Chemical’s prices increase 20%

Dow Chemical, the largest US chemicals producer, said on Wednesday it would raise the prices of all its products by up to 20 per cent in response to the surging cost of energy and raw materials this year.

The price increase, which could go higher than 20 per cent for some products, is the sharpest one-off hike the industry has seen in response to rising commodities costs, after several years of gradual price inflation.
