S Korea pension fund joins Hanaro stake bid

South Korea’s National Pension Service said on Thursday it had joined forces with Australia’s Macquarie Bank to bid for a 40 per cent stake in Hanaro telecom, the Korean broadband service provider.

“We have joined the race as a consortium partner of Macquarie,” said Kim Hee-suk, an NPS official in charge of alternative investments.
