MPs to value BBC commerce

The growing commercial footprint of the BBC is going to be measured and assessed by MPs, it emerged on Friday.

Just days after BBC Worldwide, the publicly funded broadcaster’s commercial arm, reported record profits of £118m ($236m, €149m) on all-time high revenues of £916m, the Commons culture media and sport committee said it would launch an official parliamentary inquiry.
