Funds suffer as worried investors cash in

Fidelity has lost its position as the largest asset manager in the UK to Invesco Perpetual due to a surge in withdrawals from its UK funds in the last three months of 2007, according to a new report on UK fund sales.

Investors took £977.2m from Fidelity's range of UK funds in the last quarter of the year, Lipper Feri, the fund research group confirmed this week.
