Tokyo ‘frustrated’ in China food probe

Japanese officials on Monday expressed growing concern about a lack of co-operation from Chinese police investigating a food poisoning case that some fear is undermining a dramatic improvement in relations between Tokyo and Beijing.

The incident, in which at least 10 people became ill after eating contaminated dumplings made in China, has sparked a nationwide scare in Japan over the quality and safety of food imports from its booming neighbour.
