Losses prompt Infineon chief to quit

Wolfgang Ziebart, chief executive of of Infineon, is set to step down at the end of June after the German microprocessor maker last quarter reported its biggest loss since it was floated by Siemens in 2000.

People familiar with the situation said board member Peter Bauer, in charge of the unit that makes chips for cars, could take over as interim head while non-executive directors looked for a successor to take the helm. Infineon declined to ­comment.
