Oil given fresh momentum by Iran missile test

Oil prices rose on Wednesday after long-range missile tests by Iran stoked fears of conflict in the region.

Iran said the missiles could reach Israel or US bases in the region, capping weeks of fierce rhetoric between Tehran and the west over its nuclear programme. Iran is the world’s fourth-biggest oil producer and is next to the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for world oil supply.
