Enterprise Inns set itself on course to convert into a tax-efficient real estate investment trust by unveiling corporate restructuring proposals that would establish a new operating company.

The operator of 7,700 tenanted pubs would be the first pub group to convert into a Reit, a move that could trigger others to follow suit.
