UK allowed to resume meat exports

British farmers will be allowed to export meat and live animals to the European Union from Saturday, following the EU’s decision on Thursday to lift the ban imposed after the foot-and-mouth outbreak.

The remaining restrictions on the movement of livestock were also swept away on Thursday, apart from the 10km area surrounding the foot-and-mouth outbreak in Surrey.
