Crude oil prices hit highest level in two weeks

Commodities were in de­mand Wednesday with crude oil prices hitting their highest level in two weeks after a bigger-than-expected drop in US inventories forced previously bearish speculators to cover their bets.

Agricultural commodities also moved higher, with the price of wheat hovering close to its recent peak. Base metals were mixed, balancing concerns about slower US economic growth with robust global demand.
