Tesco drops estate agency plans

Tesco has abandoned plans to launch a cut-price estate agency business after securing a deal to sell its property website to high street agent Spicerhaart.

The supermarket chain launched a housing website last summer that offered customers the chance to market their own home for just £199, a significant undercutting of the traditional agent's fee of about 2 per cent.
