Building industry’s public workloads fall

Last quarter saw workloads in the construction industry decline at their fastest rate in more than a decade, as even previously immune parts of the building world were hit by the credit crisis, according to a regular survey of the sector.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ construction market survey saw activity levels slowing in all regions as the lack of available debt finance took its toll on developers in the three months to the end of June.
