Robin Totterman, owner of Inspecs, a spectacle design and manufacturing business, recently bought Algha works, a glasses factory still based in its original 1930s home near the Olympics site in east London. The plant makes retro glasses, like the ‘roundeye’ spectacles worn by John Lennon.

In this audio slideshow, Mr Totterman, 51, explains how he went from selling bonds in the City to making designer glasses.
