South Korea has moved beyond outdated tool of price controls

From Mr Jin Hong.

Sir, It was quite surprising to read your article “South Korea eyes price controls to cushion consumers” (July 16). It may well give readers a misleading perception about what the Korean government is doing to tame rapidly rising inflation and to mitigate its impact on consumers. Given the negative tone usually associated with the term “price control”, I am also worried that this article could prejudice sovereign credit rating agencies against the Korean economy.
