Sir, Why is the FT so dismissive about comparing US aggression in Iraq with Roman adventurism in Mesopotamia ("Pax Romana", editorial, August 18/19)? In the past, you have drawn parallels between Iraq today and the British occupation of 1920; why not do the same with Rome? There is a lesson to be learned.
