European institutions managing hundreds of billions of euros are eager to invest in local Chinese private equity funds but are struggling to find suitable managers and are deterred by uncertainty over regulation, a new survey shows.
Nine out of 10 European limited partners – the pension funds, endowments, insurers and wealth managers that invest in private equity – expect to increase their Chinese exposure over five years, according to the survey by Epiven, an adviser on China.
