Sir, While your article “Fraud threatens payments systems plan” (April 28) highlighted the unrelenting threat non-cash payments fraud in the European Union continues to pose to the payments industry, it does not draw attention to the European Commission report's fundamental lack of recommendations on the subject. The Commission is missing the opportunity to advocate stronger countermeasures, despite the continuous growth in fraud across Europe.
