• Bindesh Savjani has joined Intermediate Capital Group, the €20bn specialist credit manager, as global chief risk officer. Mr Savjani previously worked at UK fund house Aberdeen Asset Management.

• JPMorgan Asset Management has appointed Michael Bell as a global market strategist, based in London. Mr Bell, who joins from C. Hoare & Co, the UK’s oldest private bank, replaces Kerry Craig who has moved to Australia to develop the US asset management group’s market insights programme there.

Also joining JPMAM is Stefan Lummert who takes on the role of head of insurance advisory for Germany & Austria after moving from NN Investment Partners.

JPMAM has also appointed Patrick Thomson as head of international institutional clients, a new position. Mr Thomson will continue his existing role as head of sovereign clients.

Two hires for Global X, the New York–based ETF provider. Brian Diessner joins as head of sales from BlackRock while Chris Ciompi takes the role of head of marketing after moving from Liberty Mutual Insurance

• Rafe Garvin has moved to Investec Private Office, part of Investec Wealth & Investment, as an investment director. Mr Garvin previously worked at Pictet, the Swiss private bank.

• Investec Asset Management, meanwhile, has appointed Matthew Oakeley as chief technology officer. Mr Oakeley joins from UK fund house Schroders.

• Legal & General Investment Management has hired Katharine Photiou as head of workplace DC product & proposition. Ms Photiou joins the £715bn asset manager from Barclays, the UK bank.

• Nutmeg, the online investment management company, has hired Martin Stead as chief revenue officer from energy group EDF.

• Two hires at Kames Capital, the £56.1bn Edinburgh based investment manager. Ian Gatiss joins as an asset manager in the property team after moving from GE Capital Real Estate. Carly Norris has moved from Janus Capital to the role of institutional relationship manager in London.

• Standard Life Investments, the £250bn Edinburgh-based investment manager, is expanding its US operations with the appointment of David Silk as director of US business development. Mr Silk, who will work with Taft-Hartley pension plans, joins from Cadence Capital Management.

• Insight Investment has hired Lloyd Thomas as a portfolio manager in its multi-asset strategy group. Mr Thomas joins the $603bn asset manager from Italy’s Mediolanum.
