Credit squeeze keeps Europe’s banks under pressure

European equity markets retreated this week with the banking sector under pressure as money markets remained severely constrained in spite of ongoing efforts by the European Central Bank to boost liquidity.

The FTSE Eurofirst 300 fell 2.6 per cent to 1,494.88 over the week. (All of the following share prices moves are over the week.)
