Sex re-education

The latest Department of Health figures showed a 10 per cent rise in teenage abortions last year, prompting calls for better sex education.

But the statistics also revealed that the total number of abortions rose 2.5 per cent and that 15 per cent of UK terminations are for women over 35, often married or in long-term relationships. Health professionals claim women in this group are unaware of the range of contraception now available.
