Sleep Depot slips into administration

Further evidence of the troubles facing big-ticket retailers came on Tuesday after it emerged that Sleep Depot, a bed retailer with 111 outlets across the UK, had gone into administration.

James Gleave and Ann O’Keefe of Kroll Associates, appointed as joint administrators on Monday afternoon, said they had concluded “it is impossible for Sleep Depot to continue to trade”. Its outlets had been closed immediately and all 367 employees made redundant.
