Win for online real estate brokers

Online real estate brokers will be guaranteed access to house listings that were previously kept off-limits to them by the National Association of Realtors following a settlement between the association and the Department of Justice’s antitrust division.

Antitrust officials said the proposed agreement with NAR, a trade association that represents 1.2m residential real estate brokers, would bolster competition in the real estate brokerage industry and lower commission rates for consumers.
