Sir, Robert Wade (Letters, February 6) takes me to task for missing the point (as he puts it) that the Arctic ice is melting much faster than anyone had expected. And he, or his chosen expert, predicts that this summer a vessel without any ice-breaking capability will have a one in two chance of navigating to the North Pole.
