The departure of long-standing multi-manager Bambos Hambi from Gartmore Investment at the beginning of May placed co-manager Tony Lanning in the hot seat. Since then, he has subtly imposed his stamp on the range.
Having worked alongside Mr Hambi after joining Gartmore last October, Mr Lanning said he was generally happy with the five funds' asset allocation positions when he took over as sole lead manager. However, in the past four weeks he has begun to make some tactical adjustments, tinkering with geographical weightings and bringing his experience in the private banking sphere to bear by adding alternative positions.
