Tim Yeo has been a Member of the British Parliament since 1983. He served in the Administrations of Margaret Thatcher and John Major and was a member of the Shadow Cabinet from 1998 to 2005.
Tim has been writing about golf for ten years, initially for Country Life and Golf Weekly, before starting his column in the Weekend FT.
He has all the zeal of a convert to golf, having only started to play regularly in his mid-thirties. Since then he’s tried to make up for lost time and has now played over two hundred courses in more than twenty countries ranging from Taiwan to Cuba. His home club is Royal St George’s, Sandwich, and he is also a member of both Sunningdale and the Royal and Ancient. He is also Vice President of the National Golf Clubs Advisory Association.
Before entering Parliament he worked in investment banking and latterly was Chief Executive of one of Britain’s largest charities, SCOPE. He is a graduate of Cambridge University. - -
