It provides a return to investors by being sold at a deep discount. Known also as an accrual bond, a deferred interest bond and a strip. zero-coupon convertible A zero-coupon bond issued by a company can be converted into common stock at a certain price; one issued by a government can be converted into an interest-bearing bond. zero-minus tick In stock markets, a price which is the same as that for the previous transaction, but less than that of the trade before that. Also known as a zero-downtick. zero-plus tick In stock markets, a price which is the same as that for the previous transaction, but greater than that of the trade before that.
